Story The story takes place 4 years before the saga “Gears of War” and before Marcus Fenix's imprisonment in the Jacinto Maximum Security Penitentiary, and when locusts attacked the city named City 36. The city 's council ordered an evacuation in order to bomb it to destory the locusts; however, an important COG (Coalition of Ordered Governments) war technology research center located in the center of the city has research too valuable to give up. Scientists protecting the research sent out a distress signal to retrieve the prototype. This mission was given to Marcus Fenix to infiltrate City 36 and retrieve the research prototype from the scientist.
